Forty-six men and women under house arrest for 18 days in this yolk colored "villa". I'd stay out of the downstairs bathroom, if I were you.

The security force stayed in Hut V-14, which also served as the weapon storage hut.

The blending, morphing, combining or shifting apart of individual identities is a major unexplored factor in the Jonestown story. The construction of false public identities is a fact of life in organized criminal networks, but also in the spooky netherworld of spies, agents and quasi-governmental operatives---workers employed in what is commonly called the "intelligence field." Mae Brussell named them "migratory birds" for their transitory natures.

In the case of Jim Jones and the Peoples Temple an alignment or affinity with covert professionals seems somehow indicated, although in the main, mafia rules are a more prosaic cause.
Michael: "My father is no different than any other powerful man -- any man who's responsible for other people, like a senator or president."

Kay: "You know how naive you sound...senators and presidents don't have men killed."

Michael: "Oh, who's being naive, Kay?"

  1. Jim Jones created a functional town from some of the thickest jungles on the planet, infested with some of the most dangerous creatures on the planet. But this was all by design; Jones knew that no one would dare escape by venturing off into the surrounding bush for fear of what was lurking in the darkness. The young man seen in the images driving the tractor with blonde hair is Stanley Geig who would die by a gunshot wound to the head on 18 Novemeber 1978. His brother, Clifford, who was also in Jonestown that day would escape death by pure luck. He had been told by Jones to move the Jonestown boat, the Cudjoe, down river probably to stop anyone from esacaping the carnage that would unfold later that day.

  2. Sorry but Stanley Gieg was not shot in the head but died in all likelyhood from ingesting poison, only two people were reported shot Jim Jones and Annie Moore.
