Dr. J.L. Magnes, associate rabbi with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Silverman, advocating a change in the reformed ritual and service now in vogue.

Yesterday is known in the Bible as the Feast of the Seventh Month, the blowing of the trumpet being its ceremonial accompaniment. Not until rabbinic times did it develop into the New Year.
