Jonathan Elinoff calls into Kevin Barrett's radio program to reveal a story he is breaking about art students who lived in tents on the 91st floor of the World Trade Center. He claims they lived there illegally for months before the attack and that they were later arrested after 9/11 and detained as part of an Israel spy ring although they are Austrian and German. Elinoff claims that he has photos and that the "art students" had 3 or 4 tons of boxes, blue prints and maps of security check points. August 18, 2001, New York Times, Balcony Scene (Or Unseen) Atop the World; Episode at Trade Center Assumes Mythic Qualities, by Shaila K. Dewan,
The affair of the balcony ended, if indeed it ever began, with the appearance in July of a slender book of curious title, obtainable in very few places, one of them being an art gallery in a frosted storefront on Broadway near Franklin Street.
Called "The B-Thing" and produced by four Vienna-based artists known collectively as Gelatin, the book is demure to the point of being oblique. What little explanation it contains appears to have been scribbled in ballpoint. Among the photos and schematic drawings, there are doodles of tarantulas with human heads.
In short, the book belies the extravagance of the feat it seems to document: the covert installation, and brief use, of a balcony on the 91st floor of the World Trade Center, 1,100 feet above the earth. Eight photographs -- some grainy, all taken from a great distance -- depict one tower's vast eastern facade, marred by a tiny molelike growth: a lone figure dressed in a white jacket, standing in a lectern-size box.
The contemporary art world, of course, is rife with acts of subversion followed by boasting, which is known as "documentation." In that context, the beauty of the balcony was that it so literally pushed the envelope. Yet since that Sunday morning in March 2000, when the balcony was allegedly installed and, 19 minutes later, dismantled, the affair has taken on the outlines of an urban myth, mutated by rumors and denials among the downtown cognoscenti.
Although the book appears to seek notoriety, the artists have gone coy. Their dealer, who witnesses say watched the event from a hotel suite, now claims it never happened. Either the balcony was an elaborate hoax meant to look real, or the inverse is true: it really happened, and the closer it comes to being found out, the more those involved would prefer for everyone to think it was a hoax.
In the spring of 2000, Gelatin and 14 other artists shared free studio space on the 91st floor, where the group's artmaking appeared to consist of building a clubhouse out of cardboard boxes.
But Ali Janka, a member of Gelatin reached by phone in Vienna, said that the blindered view afforded by the narrow windows had inspired them to find a way to step outside. "After you have a certain idea, you can't go back," he said, "because everything else seems very weak compared to it."
Mr. Janka was happy to talk about the project, at least at first. After weeks of planning, he said, one night Gelatin -- he, Florian Reither, Tobias Urban and Wolfgang Gantner -- waited in the studio until dawn. At the appointed moment, the four, wearing harnesses, unscrewed the aluminum moldings that hold the window in place and used two large suction cups to remove the glass (air pressure adds about 300 pounds to the effort). As warm air streamed past, they outfitted the window with a cantilevered box, big enough for only one person at a time.
"The amazing thing that happens when you take out a window," Mr. Janka said, "is that the whole city comes into the building."
Other artists in the studio have heard rumors of the balcony, but most are dubious. "I can tell you that it never happened," said Geoffrey Detrani, whose space was next to Gelatin's. "To remove a window would be a pretty serious structural breach."
But Gelatin, fearing expulsion from the country, had gone to great lengths to conceal their plot. The clubhouse afforded privacy and storage. By prior agreement, the group confiscated all film and video of the project taken by invited witnesses.
Still, how did a balcony escape the notice of one of the most security-conscious office towers in the world? An examination of the security system revealed that it was focused on the ground floor and basement, Mr. Janka said, adding, "There's no surveillance on the facade itself."
That is true, said Cherrie Nanninga, the director of real estate for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which until recently ran the World Trade Center. Port Authority officials, shown a copy of "The B-Thing" by a reporter, reacted with disbelief, then outrage. Although their own investigation turned up no evidence, Ms. Nanninga said, "we have no reason to believe it didn't happen."
Window removal is considered so dangerous that when it is done the streets below are cordoned off, she said. "It was really a stupid and irrational act that in my view borders on the criminal," she said, adding that the stunt had jeopardized the studio program, whose space is donated by the Trade Center.
Removing the window may have been dangerous, but according to Walter Friedman, the owner of Dependable Glass, which performs that service for the World Trade Center, it is not that difficult. All it takes is four guys, some readily available equipment -- and nerve, Mr. Friedman said.
Nerve is not something Gelatin lacks. They specialize in projects that require participants to sign a waiver.
In a piece called "The Human Elevator," strong men on scaffolding hoisted people to the roof of a three-story building in Los Angeles. And patrons in Munich were greased with baby oil and invited to slide naked down an esophaguslike chute formed by the bellies of a crew of overweight Germans.
Although Gelatin, which is representing Vienna in the Venice Biennale, has not shrunk from physical risk, they seem to think that merely discussing the balcony with a reporter was dangerous, perhaps because they are currently seeking permission to live on a vacant lot on Canal Street, as part of a forthcoming exhibition.
"If you write about the balcony, maybe you can just not write about it too much," Mr. Janka called back to say after the initial interview, the first of several calls protesting the appearance of an article, despite the fact that the artists had published the book.
To others involved in the project, it seemed reasonable that the appearance of "The B-Thing" meant secrecy was no longer necessary. Josh Harris, the Internet entrepreneur once known for holding extravagant art parties, explained that Leo Koenig, the 24-year-old art dealer who represents Gelatin, got him involved.
The night before the B-Thing, Mr. Harris said, he rented a top-floor suite at the Millennium Hilton, across the street from the Gelatin studio, and invited people to what guests described as a night of decadence. Near dawn, he and several others took cameras and boarded a helicopter, communicating with Gelatin via cell phone.
"We had to fly twice around the building before we could see them," said Mr. Harris, who is thanked in the book.
Afterward, Gelatin appeared at the hotel, where their success was toasted at a euphoric breakfast, according to five other witnesses, including Tanya Corrin, a video producer and writer, and David Leslie, a performance artist. "We just applauded the gutsy originality of it," Ms. Corrin said. "I think we all left feeling, wow, we just did something amazing, and nobody knows."
Mr. Koenig now says the balcony never happened and, at any rate, he didn't see it. The book, which costs $35 and was printed in a run of 1,200 copies, is meant to provoke questions about its veracity, he said.
At the suggestion that the project might have been faked, Mr. Harris seemed almost offended. He produced March 2000 credit card bills bearing charges of $2,167.44 from the Millennium Hilton and $1,625 from Helicopter Flight Service.
At about the same time that Mr. Harris was digging up proof, Gelatin was removing almost every trace of it from their Web site.
Moukhtar Kocache, the director of the studio program, insisted that the photos of the balcony were obviously faked. But digital manipulation experts disagreed. George Dash, the co-owner of Nucleus Imaging on East 30th Street, and a colleague, John Grasso, used magnifying loupes to examine a copy of "The B-Thing." Neither could detect inconsistencies. "The angles are all too perfect," Mr. Grasso said. "It looks real to me. Absolutely. I've been doing this for 22 years."
The balcony may be an art prank in the lineage of Yves Klein, who in 1960 disseminated a picture of himself leaping blithely out a window, an image revealed years later to be the product of deftly spliced negatives. But in its audacity, it seems more akin to tricksters who tested the limits of the World Trade Center in the 1970's, including Philippe Petit, who walked a high wire strung between the towers.
"This building needs things like that to happen, because otherwise it would die inside," said Mr. Janka, who was under the impression that Mr. Petit had been deported for his action.
Although the Port Authority has not yet decided what, if any, action it will take against Gelatin, Mr. Janka might be relieved to learn that Mr. Petit, who still lives in New York, was simply required to give the city a free performance. He obliged by walking a tightrope to the top of the Belvedere Castle.

The Israeli "art student" story, which first surfaced in 2001 in news reports, has yet to be explained by U.S. authorities. A memorandum sent to the 9/11 Commission, and Senate and House intelligence committees in September 2004, suggests that young Israelis who canvassed dozens of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) offices in 2000 and 2001 trying to sell paintings to federal workers, may have been spying not only on the DEA, but also on Arab extremists in the United States - including the Sept. 11 hijackers who were living in Florida and New Jersey. Many reports describe incidents of government employees spotting individuals in office hallways or elevators carrying large art portfolio cases. The art sellers would typically make a pitch to sell paintings, but if they were told that soliciting in government offices was prohibited, some replied that the art wasn't actually for sale but was promoting a future art show, the DEA report said. During the first five months of 2001, according to Shea's memorandum, the "Israeli DEA Groups" visited a total of 57 DEA locations - 28 offices and 29 private residences.
Other individuals that Shea calls the "Israeli New Jersey Group" were based in Bergen and Hudson counties, in New Jersey, according to the well-annotated memorandum that also cites the 9/11 Commission report, the 2002 congressional intelligence committees' joint inquiry into the terrorist attacks, newspaper and magazine reports, Fox News telecasts, 9/11 hijacker timelines, FBI suspect lists, and an East Rutherford (New Jersey) Police Department report. Dozens of the more than 100 Israelis were stopped and questioned by DEA agents, and other federal government authorities. The individuals were vague about why they were in the U.S. or what their purpose was for being here. Dozens were arrested for visa violations and deported, according to the memorandum. Many in the groups had served in the military, which is compulsory for Israeli citizens, and group leaders had been in intelligence and electronic communications units. With such expertise, it strikes many as odd that the Israelis would be hawking inexpensive artwork. In the report, the DEA concluded that the agency was being spied on by the Israelis.
In 2001, a Fox News report by Carl Cameron laid out the Israeli spy scenario, however, the story was short-lived, and Shea was told by a representative at the news organization that there was outside pressure to kill the story.

The way the corporate media would have it believed is that Israeli "art students" who aggressively sell cheap art door-to-door, usually at federal office buildings and the houses of government employees, are merely traveling abroad after their military service in Israel to "see the world." In fact, these "art students" are classic intelligence operatives who have appeared before and after major terrorist events and covert operations conducted by the Mossad. WMR has learned that an Israeli art student cased the offices of an investigator of the suspicious February 26, 2004, death of Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski. Trajkovski's Beechcraft King Air 200 crashed near Stolac, Croatia, in southern Bosnia while en route to an investors' conference in Mostar.
After the crash, U.S. Ambassador to Macedonia Lawrence Butler quickly met with Nikolai Gruevski, the minister of finance in the VMRO-DPMNE government. Gruevski was an ardent supporter of denationalization, a globalist, and supporter of NATO membership for Macedonia. Prime Minister Branko Crvenkovski, although a Social Democrat, was also seen as close to the globalists. Although Trajkovski, a Methodist minister, was also a member of the VMRO-DPMNE party he was viewed as less accommodating to international demands for privatization of state enterprises in Macedonia. After Trajkovski and his party were killed in the plane crash, Macedonian and Bosnian authorities complained that NATO's investigation of the plane crash was secretive and the two countries' aviation authorities were kept in the dark. Many Macedonian officials were opposed to allowing the United States to investigate the crash and there was confusion about who had access to the two "black boxes" on Trajkovski's plane. NATO troops stationed in Bosnia were the first to arrive at the crash scene.

We spoke earlier about the five celebrating Israeli "movers", (Mossad agents), who were arrested and placed in solitary confinement for weeks after they were spotted in a white van suspected of attempting to blow up the George Washington Bridge. We also reviewed how the Israeli owner of Urban Moving Systems - Dominick Suter - then suddenly abandoned his "moving company" and fled for Israel on 9-14. But there were still more Israeli "movers" and other Israelis whose actions raise serious suspicions. Even more suspicious is how they are always quietly released and deported. In October of 2001, three more Israeli "movers" were stopped in Plymouth, PA because of their suspicious behavior. These "movers" were seen dumping furniture near a restaurant dumpster! When the restaurant manager approached the driver, a "Middle Eastern" man later identified as Moshe Elmakias fled the scene. The manager made note of the truck's sign which read "Moving Systems Incorporated" and called the police. When the police spotted the truck, two other Israelis - Ayelet Reisler and Ron Katar began acting suspiciously. The Plymouth police searched the truck and found a video. The Israelis were taken into custody and the video tape was played at the police station. The video revealed footage of Chicago with zoomed in shots of the Sears Tower. The police quickly alerted the FBI and it was also discovered that the Israelis had falsified travel logs and phony paperwork on them. (1) They were also unable to provide a name and telephone number for the customer that they claimed to have been working for. These Israelis were up to some sort of dirty business, and you can be sure it had nothing to do with moving furniture. These Israeli spies may have had a dark sense of humor. On October 10, 2001, CNN made a brief mention of a foiled terrorist bomb plot in the Mexican Parliament building. They promised to bring any further developments of this story to their viewers, but the incident was never heard of again in America. But the story appeared in bold headlines on the front page of the major Mexican newspapers (2) and was also posted on the official website of the Mexican Justice Department. (3) Two terror suspects were apprehended in the Mexican Chamber of Deputies. Caught red-handed, they had in their possession a high powered gun, nine hand grenades, and C-4 plastic explosives (great stuff for demolishing buildings!) Within days, this blockbuster story not only disappeared from the Mexican press, but the Israelis were quietly released and deported! The two terrorists were Salvador Gerson Sunke and Sar ben Zui. Can you guess what their ethnicity was? Sunke was a Mexican jew and Zui was a colonel with the Israeli special forces (MOSSAD).(4)
The story in El Diario de Mexico went on to reveal that the Zionist terrorists had fake Pakistani passports on them. Can you say "false flag operation?" The probable motive of this particular botched terrorist operation was to involve oil rich Mexico in the "War on Terrorism". (The War on Israel's enemies would be a more accurate description). Mexico is no military power, but the psychological trauma of an "Arab" attack on Mexico would surely have induced Mexico to provide unlimited cheap oil to her American "protector". With cheap oil flowing to America at low prices from Mexico, the US could better afford to break off relations with the oil rich Arab states in general and Saudi Arabia in particular. That's why the planners chose 15 Saudi identities to steal for the 9-11 operation. Many Mexicans expressed shock at the release of the two Israelis. But when you learn that Mexico's Secretary of Foreign Relations is a Zionist named Jorge Gutman, it's not surprising! The Zionist tentacles reach even into Mexico!
La Voz de Aztlan (Mexican-American news service), in it's excellent investigative report revealed: "La Voz de Aztlan has learned that the Israeli Embassy used heavy handed measures to have the two Israelis released. Very high level emergency meetings took place between Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Jorge Gutman, General Macedo de la Concha and a top Ariel Sharon envoy who flew to Mexico City specially for that purpose. Elías Luf of the Israeli Embassy worked night and day and their official spokeswoman Hila Engelhart went into high gear after many hours of complete silence. What went on during those high level meetings no one knows, but many in Mexico are in disbelief at their release."
(5) In November of 2001, 6 more suspicious Israelis were detained in an unspecified mid-eastern state. They had in their possession box cutters, oil pipeline plans, and nuclear power plant plans. (6) The local police called in the Feds and Immigration officials took over the scene and released the men without calling the FBI. The Jerusalem Post, the Miami Herald, (7) and the Times of London (8) all carried this amazing story and all revealed how furious FBI officials were that these terror suspects with nuclear power plant plans were allowed to go free. Of course, the corruption riddled FBI would only have caved into Zionist pressure from the Justice Department's Criminal Division boss, Michael Chertoff, and also from the ADL's "partner", FBI boss Robert Mueller - who would no doubt have found a way to eventually release those Israeli terror suspects too. In December, 2001, the Los Angeles Times published the story of how two jewish terrorists were arrested by the FBI for plotting to blow up the office of US Congressman of Arab descent - Darrell Issa (R- CA), and a California mosque. (9) Irv Rubin and Earl Kruger of the Jewish Defense League (JDL) were charged with conspiracy to destroy a building by means of explosives. This story got brief national coverage but quickly disappeared too. These Zionists sure love blowing up buildings and killing innocent people don't they? In May of 2002, yet another moving van was pulled over in Oak Harbor, Washington near the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. Fox News reported that the van was pulled over for speeding shortly after midnight. The passengers told the police they were delivering furniture, but because it was so late at night, the police weren't buying the story. A bomb sniffing dog was brought in and the dog detected the presence of TNT and RDX plastic explosives in the truck (great stuff for demolishing buildings!) Both Fox News (10) and the Ha'aretz newspaper of Israel (11) reported that the two "movers" were Israelis.
In December, 2002, Ariel Sharon made the amazing claim that Al-Qaeda agents were operating inside of Israel. But when Palestinian authorities apprehended the suspects, they turned out to be Palestinian traitors impersonating Al-qaeda agents for the MOSSAD! From the Sydney Morning Herald of Austrailia: "Palestinian security forces have arrested a group of Palestinians for collaborating with Israel and posing as operatives of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda terrorist network, a senior official said yesterday. ..The arrests come two days after Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon charged al-Qaeda militants were operating in Gaza and in Lebanon. It was considered a surprise because the Gaza Strip is virtually sealed off by Israeli troops. The hardline Israeli leader also charged other members of the terror group were cooperating with Lebanon's Shi'ite militia Hizbollah" (12) You know, if Sharon wasn't so dangerous, I'd almost be amused by his bullshit! According to FOX news, throughout late 2000 and 2001, a total of 200 Israeli spies were arrested. (13) It was the largest spy ring to ever be uncovered in the history of the United States. The Washington Post also reported that some of these Israelis were arrested in connection with the 9-11 investigation.(14) US.
Carl Cameron of FOX News Channel did a excellent four part, nationally televised, series of investigations into this blockbuster scandal. But FOX pulled the investigative series after Zionist groups complained to FOX executives. FOX even went so far as to remove the written transcripts of the series from its website! In it's place was posted a chilling, Orwellian message which reads: "This story no longer exists." (15)
Fortunately for the sake of history, the FOX transcripts were copied onto to many other websites and all four parts are available for your review. (see footnotes.) The FOX series and other mainstream news media sources revealed that many of these Israelis were army veterans with electronics and explosives expertise. Many of them failed lie detector tests. FBI agents told FOX that some of their past investigations were compromised because suspects had been tipped off by Israeli wiretapping specialists. It was discovered that Israeli companies such as Comverse and Amdocs have the capability to tap American telephones (great for blackmailing all those wife-cheating politicians!) FBI agents also told FOX they believed the Israelis had advance knowledge of the 9-11 attacks. (which certainly would explain why no Israelis died in the WTC)
Still another US official informed FOX that some of the detained Israelis actually had links to 9-11, but he refused to describe the nature of those links. The FBI official told FOX's Carl Cameron: "Evidence linking these Israelis to 9-11 is classified. I cannot tell you about the evidence that has been gathered. It is classified information." (16) (emphasis added) Then there was that small army of Israeli "art students" who were arrested for trying to sneak into secured US Federal buildings and staking out 36 Department of Defense sites. Some of these suspicious "art students" even showed up at the homes of Federal employees.(17)
Ron Hatchett, a Department of Defense analyst, told Channel 11, KHOU news in Houston that he believed that the "art students" were gathering intelligence for future attacks. Here's an excerpt from the October 1, 2001 KHOU investigative report by Anna Werner: "Could federal buildings in Houston and other cities be under surveillance by foreign groups? That's what some experts are asking after federal law enforcement and security officials - nationally and in Houston - described for the 11 News Defenders a curious pattern of behavior by a group of people claiming to be Israeli art students." "Hatchett says they could be doing what he would be doing if he were a terrorist, sizing up the situation: "We need to know what are the entrances to this particular building. We need to know what are the surveillance cameras that are operating. We need to know how many guards are at this operation, when do they take breaks?" Says Hatchett: This is not a bunch of kids selling artwork." "A former Defense Department analyst, Hatchett believes groups may be gathering intelligence for possible future attacks. "Some organization, thinking in terms of a potential retaliation against the U.S. government could be scouting out potential targets and . looking for targets that would be vulnerable." And a source tells the Defenders of another federal memo, stating that besides Houston and Dallas, the same thing has happened at sites in New York, Florida, and six other states, and even more worrisome, at 36 sensitive Department of Defense sites. "One defense site you can explain," says Hatchett, "well that was just a serendipitous, .... Thirty-six? That's a pattern." (18)
A Federal memo stated that these "art students" may have had ties to an "Islamic terror group". More likely, they were the "Islamic terror group"! Remember the bombing of the King David Hotel in 1946, and how the "Arab terrorists" were actually Irgun terrorists? Remember the Zionist terrorists caught in Mexico with Arab passports? Remember the official motto of the Mossad - By Way of Deception Thou Shalt Do War. Are you getting the picture? Can you say "false flag operations"? In a follow up report a few days later, KHOU Channel 11 revealed that Dallas was also targetted: "11 News reported how people claiming to be "Israeli art students" might be trying to sneak into federal buildings and defense sites, and even doing surveillance. And at least one expert said he thought it could all be preparation for an attack. Well, now federal sources say they are not ruling out that all of this could be connected with the hijackings on September 11, because of events in another Texas city. In Dallas, the so-called students hit early this year at the city's FBI building, the Drug Enforcement Administration and at the Earle Cabell Federal building, where guards found one student wandering the halls with a floor plan of the building. So the Dallas INS went on the alert, finding and arresting 15 people in March. Thirteen claimed to be Israelis and two are professed Colombians. But according to sources, once again their passports were phony. And another federal source says some of those arrested also appeared to have lists of federal employees and their home addresses. All 15 "students" have now been deported. Now, since our first story ran Sunday night, some viewers called who said that they've been visited by people who claim to be Israeli students selling art." Absolutely mind boggling! Why were Israeli explosives experts, posing as "art students" roaming the halls of US Federal buildings? Why were Israeli army vets, armed with explosives and detonators, roaming the halls of the Mexican Congress? Why were Israeli "movers" caught invans with explosives residue ? Might some of these shady characters have once also "roamed the halls" of the World Trade Center prior to 9-11? Why aren't "60 minutes", "Nightline", "20/20", and the rest of the Zionist media aggressively pursuing the story behind the Israeli "art students" and "movers" with 1/1,000th the zeal that they pursued Martha Stewart over allegations of insider trading (who cares?), or 1/10,000th the zeal that they pursued the Catholic Church over an occasional pedophile priest? (funny how we never hear about the documented cases of pedophile rabbis!) or 1/100,000th the zeal that they pursue the Muslim bogeyman on a daily basis? Something smells rotten here! One would think that these intriguing mysteries would have great TV audience appeal, especially in light of the fact that the Oklahoma Federal building was blown up in 1995 by the since executed Timothy McVeigh (dead men tell no tales), and a "John Doe # 2" of "Middle- Eastern appearance", who was never tracked down or pursued despite numerous eye-witness accounts and despite an FBI All Points Bulletin which clearly described him as such. Here's part of the exchange: IFILL: "Are you suggesting that you are convinced that there was a state sponsor behind 9/11?" GRAHAM: "I think there is very compelling evidence that at least some of the terrorists were assisted not just in financing - although that was part of it - by a sovereign foreign government and that we have been derelict in our duty to track that down, make the further case, or find the evidence that would indicate that that is not true and we can look for other reasons why the terrorists were able to function so effectively in the United States." IFILL: "Do you think that will ever become public, which countries you're talking about?" Now listen to Graham's bombshell.........: GRAHAM: "It will become public at some point when it's turned over to the archives, but that's 20 or 30 years from now. And, we need to have this information now because it's relevant to the threat that the people of the United States are facing today." (24)

(25) (empasis added) In order for evidence "linking these Israelis to 9-11" to become classified, the evidence has to have existed in the first place! Furthermore, but it must have been very, very serious stuff indeed. Only the really ugly stuff merits the distinction of being "classified!" It may be possible that the good Senator doesn't know himself which country or countries are involved. Graham may still be under the delusion that it's an Arab government. (7) One anonymous phone call to the authorities actually led them to close down all of New York's bridges and tunnels. The mystery caller told the 9-1-1 dispatcher that a group of Palestinians were mixing a bomb inside of a white van headed for the Holland Tunnel. Here's the transcript from NBC News: Dispatcher: Jersey City police. Caller: Yes, we have a white van, 2 or 3 guys in there, they look like Palestinians and going around a building. Caller: There's a minivan heading toward the Holland tunnel, I see the guy by Newark Airport mixing some junk and he has those sheikh uniform. Dispatcher: He has what? Caller: He's dressed like an Arab. (8) (*Writer's note: Why would this mystery caller specifically say that these "Arabs" were Palestinians? How would he know that? Palestinians usually dress in western style clothes, not "sheikh uniforms") Based on that phone call, police then issued a "Be-on-the-Lookout" alert for a white mini-van heading for the city's bridges and tunnels from New Jersey. The police and FBI field agents became very suspicious when they found maps of the city with certain places highlighted, box cutters (the same items that the hijackers supposedly used), $4700 cash stuffed in a sock, and foreign passports. Police also told the Bergen Record that bomb sniffing dogs were brought to the van and that they reacted as if they had smelled explosives. (11) The FBI seized and developed their photos, one of which shows Sivan Kurzberg flicking a cigarette lighter in front of the smouldering ruins in an apparently celebratory gesture. (12) The Jerusalem Post later reported that a white van with a bomb was stopped as it approached the George Washington Bridge, but the ethnicity of the suspects was not revealed. Here's what the Jerusalem Post reported on September 12, 2001: American security services overnight stopped a car bomb on the George Washington Bridge. The van, packed with explosives, was stopped on an approach ramp to the bridge. Authorities suspect the terrorists intended to blow up the main crossing between New Jersey and New York, Army Radio reported. (13) "...two suspects are in FBI custody after a truckload of explosives was discovered around the George Washington Bridge ... The FBI ... says enough explosives were in the truck to do great damage to the George Washington Bridge." WMV video download (545kB) It was reported the van contained tonnes of explosives (14). What's really intriguing is that ABC's 20/20 (15), the New York Post (16), and the New Jersey Bergen Record (17) all clearly and unambiguously reported that a white van with Israelis was intercepted on a ramp near Route 3, which leads directly to the Lincoln Tunnel. But the Jerusalem Post, Israeli National News (Arutz Sheva) (18), and Yediot America, (19) all reported, just as clearly and unambiguously, that a white van with Israelis was stopped on a ramp leading to the George Washington Bridge, which is several miles north of the Lincoln Tunnel. It appears as if there may actually have been two white vans involved, one stopped on each crossing. This would not only explain the conflicting reports as to the actual location of the arrests, but would also explain how so many credible eye-witnesses all saw celebrating "middle-easterners" in a white van in so many different locations. It also explains why the New York Post and Steve Gordon (lawyer for the 5 Israelis) originally described how three Israelis were arrested but later increased the total to five. Perhaps one van was meant to drop off a bomb while the other was meant to pick up the first set of drivers while re-crossing back into New Jersey? If a van was to be used as a parked time-bomb on the GW Bridge, then certainly the drivers would need to have a "get- away van" to pick them up and escape. And notice how the van (or vans) stayed away from the third major crossing -the Holland Tunnel- which was where the police had originally been directed to by that anti-Palestinian 9-1-1 "mystery caller". A classic misdirection play. From there, the story gets becomes even more suspicious. The Israelis worked for a Weehawken moving company known as Urban Moving Systems. An American employee of Urban Moving Systems told the The Record of New Jersey that a majority of his co-workers were Israelis and they were joking about the attacks. The employee, who declined to give his name said: "I was in tears. These guys were joking and that bothered me." These guys were like, "Now America knows what we go through." (20) A few days after the attacks, Urban Moving System's Israeli owner, Dominick Suter, dropped his business and fled the country for Israel. He was in such a hurry to flee America that some of Urban Moving System's customers were left with their furniture stranded in storage facilities (21). Suter's departure was abrupt, leaving behind coffee cups, sandwiches, cell phones and computers strewn on office tables and thousands of dollars of goods in storage. Suter was later placed on the same FBI suspect list as 9/11 lead hijacker Mohammed Atta and other hijackers and suspected al-Qaeda sympathizers, suggesting that U.S. authorities felt Suter may have known something about the attacks. (22) The Jewish weekly The Forward reported that the FBI finally concluded that at least two of the detained Israelis were agents working for the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, and that Urban Moving Systems, the ostensible employer of the five Israelis, was a front operation. This was confirmed by two former CIA officers, and they noted that movers' vans are a common intelligence cover. (23). The Israelis were held in custody for 71 days before being quietly released. (24) "There was no question but that [the order to close down the investigation] came from the White House. It was immediately assumed at CIA headquarters that this basically was going to be a cover-up so that the Israelis would not be implicated in any way in 9/11." (25) Several of the detainees discussed their experience in America on an Israeli talk show after their return home. Said one of the men, denying that they were laughing or happy on the morning of Sept. 11, "The fact of the matter is we are coming from a country that experiences terror daily. But the police react very wisely and proactively by closing off ALL bridges and tunnels instead of just the Holland Tunnel. This move inadvertently foils the Israelis' misdirection play and leads to their own capture and 40 day torture. 5. To cover up this story, the U.S. Justice Department rounds up over 1000 Arabs for minor immigration violations and places them in New York area jails. The Israelis therefore become less conspicuous as the government and media can now claim that the Israelis were just immigration violators caught in the same dragnet as many other Arabs. 6. After several months, FBI and Justice Department "higher-ups" are able to gradually push aside the local FBI agents and free the Israelis quietly. Osama bin Laden was immediately blamed for the 9/11 attacks even though he had no previous record of doing anything on this scale. Immediately after the Flight 11 hit World Trade Center 1 CIA Director George Tenet said "You know, this has bin Laden's fingerprints all over it." (33) There is no evidence, be it hard or circumstantial, to link the Al Qaeda "terrorist network" to these acts of terror, but there is a mountain of evidence, both hard and circumstantial, which suggests that Zionists have been very busy framing Arabs for terror plots against America. "It is reasonable to believe that it will take a long time and fundamental changes in the US government before the whole truth about September 11, 2001, is revealed."
The real story of the attacks on Washington and New York on September 11, 2001, is slowly emerging, shattering the myths propagated by the Bush administration. While establishment voices in the US continue to promote the official version of events, numerous independent investigators continue to find more and more evidence that exposes the lies crafted by the neo-conservatives, with the help of CNN and other media outlets, soon after the events of that fatal day. The whole truth is still not known, but one thing is already established: the official version no longer holds together. There is something terribly wrong with the version of events that has been used by the Bush administration to launch two invasions and numerous overt and secret aggressions against Muslims throughout the world.
Certain facts are worth remembering. Shortly after the attacks, most of the US press and media hugely exaggerated the number of deaths, claiming that up to fifty thousand people may have died; the total death count was gradually reduced to less than 3,000. Pointing this out is not to belittle the dead, but to draw attention to the fact that numbers were inflated to create an atmosphere of collective fear. Over the last three years, the Bush administration has continuously used this strategy to maintain a high level of anxiety and fear in America in order to pass draconian laws at home and justify an aggressive foreign policy abroad.
It is now widely accepted that September 11 has been used as a pretext for a tiny clique in the American ruling elite to push for a vast agenda of change in and outside America that could not have been justified or implemented without some massive catalyst. The details of this agenda, laid out in a policy document published by a right-wing think-tank called the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) in September 2000, are well established, and so are the close links between this think-tank and senior neo-conservatives in the Bush administration. So far, this event has been used to carry out sweeping changes in American laws, considerably reducing the legal security of its citizens; it has also generated tens, even hundreds, of millions of dollars for a tiny corporate elite through military and other contracts in and outside America.The questions which arise, then, are about the relationship between the events of that day and this agenda, which has already led to two invasions, resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of Muslims and the occupation of two Muslim countries. What are the links between those who have crafted this blueprint for a century supposed to be dominated by America and the events that have been used as an excuse and justification for implementing it?
These questions are drawing the attention of independent thinkers and investigators, and the answers are unravelling a massive and far-reaching story of deceit. It is still too early to construct a coherent and complete understanding of the real story behind September 11, but from a large number of facts brought forward by independent investigators, it can be established without doubt that the attacks did not surprise the American security and intelligence agencies; in fact, they were widely anticipated, and there is evidence to suggest that something like them was in fact desired and needed by a small group of people who had a secret agenda of world dominance.
Michael Meacher, who until June 2003 was environment minister in Tony Blair’s cabinet, has suggested various links between September 11 and the New American Century Project. In an article called ‘This War on Terrorism is Bogus’, published in the Guardian newspaper, London, on September 6, 2003, Meacher wrote: “We now know that a blueprint for the creation of a global Pax Americana was drawn up for Dick Cheney (now vice-president), Donald Rumsfeld (defence secretary), Paul Wolfowitz (Rumsfeld’s deputy), Jeb Bush (George Bush’s younger brother) and Lewis Libby (Cheney’s chief of staff). The document, entitled ‘Rebuilding America’s Defences’, was written in September 2000 by the neoconservative think tank, Project for the New American Century (PNAC). The plan shows Bush’s cabinet intended to take military control of the Gulf region whether or not Saddam Hussein was in power."
Meacher points out, as numerous other independent investigators have, that the first hijacking was suspected no later than 8.20 am, that a second plane hit the Pentagon at 9:38 am, and that the last hijacked aircraft crashed in Pennsylvania at 10.06 am. During this interval of one hour and forty-six minutes, not a single fighter plane arrived at the scene, even though the US Andrews Air Force Base is just 10 miles from Washington DC. Why was the standard FAA intercept protocol ignored on that particular day, although the US air force launched fighter aircraft on sixty-seven different occasions between September 2000 and June 2001, to chase suspicious aircraft (AP, August 13 2002)? It is a US legal requirement that once an aircraft has moved significantly off its flight plan, fighter planes are immediately sent to investigate the matter. So why were these procedures ignored on September 11? Were orders given to suspend them, and if so who gave them, on what basis and on whose authority? So far, the US government has not offered any answers to these questions.
Such details begin to make sense when viewed against the PNAC blueprint. According to this plan, America had to be willing to change its foreign policy in order to secure its perceived interests in the Middle East and elsewhere. In April 2001 the Baker Institute of Public Policy had recommended an attack on Iraq because it was "a destabilizing influence to the flow of oil to international markets from the Middle East".
As for Afghanistan, independent observers have pointed out that Afghanistan became a target after the Taliban refused to accept US conditions for the construction of pipelines from the oil and gas fields in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, which were supposed to pass through Afghanistan and Pakistan to the Indian Ocean. US representatives are reported to have threatened the Taliban, saying: "either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs" (Inter Press Service, November 15, 2001).
Of course, oil and gas are the most basic factors behind this global aggression. This overriding consideration can be understood in the light of the prediction that by 2010 the US will be able to produce only 39 percent of its petroleum needs, compared to 57 percent in 1990. The situation in Britain is no different. By 2020, 70 percent of electricity in UK will be produced from gas; 90 percent of this gas will have to be imported. Given these forecasts and the fact that Iraq has 110 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves in addition to its oil, it is not surprising that the US and Britain have invaded Iraq so impudently, ignoring the outrage of millions of people who took part in protest marches and rallies around the world.
By any standards the events of September 11, 2001, are a crime. Every crime has a motive and one or more beneficiaries. While some motives in this case remain hidden, it is abundantly clear that the main beneficiaries are the Bush administration, the Pentagon, the CIA, FBI, Israel and the US weapons and oil industries. It is reasonable, therefore, to ask about their involvement and/or complicity in the crime. In other words, did any of these beneficiaries of the tragic crime of September 11 play any role in its success?
The possible involvement of Israel in the making of this tragedy certainly cannot be ruled out. On the day of the attacks, former Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was asked what they would mean for US-Israeli relations. His quick reply was: "It's very good…Well, it's not good, but it will generate immediate sympathy [for Israel]". There is also the case of the five Israelis who were seen taking pictures and dancing joyfully in Liberty State Park while the twin towers of the World Trade Center were collapsing. Police received several calls from angry New Jersey residents who reported that middle-eastern men were videotaping the disaster with shouts of joy and mockery. "They were like happy, you know … They didn't look shocked to me," said a witness. According to ABC's 20/20 programme, when the van belonging to the cheering Israelis was stopped by the police, the driver of the van, Sivan Kurzberg, told the officers: "We are Israelis. We are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are your problem." The FBI seized their equipment and developed their photographs, one of which shows Sivan Kurzberg flicking a cigarette lighter in front of the smoldering ruins in an apparently celebratory gesture.
Later Steven Gordon, the attorney for the five Israeli detainees, acknowledged that his clients’ actions on September 11 would easily have aroused suspicions. "You got a group of guys that are taking pictures, on top of a roof, of the World Trade Center. They’re speaking in a foreign language. They got two passports on 'em. One's got a wad of cash on him, and they got box cutters. Now that's a scary situation." But Gordon insisted that his clients were just five young men who had come to America for a vacation, ended up working for a moving company, and were taking pictures of the event. The five Israelis were held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, ostensibly for overstaying their tourist visas and working in the US illegally. Two weeks after their arrest, an immigration judge ordered them to be deported. But sources told ABC News that FBI and CIA officials in Washington put a hold on the case, and the five men were held in detention for more than two months. Some of them were placed in solitary confinement for 40 days, and several were given as many as seven lie-detector tests.
At least two detainees discussed their experience in America on an Israeli talk-show after their return to Israel. "The fact of the matter is we are coming from a country that experiences terror daily. Our purpose was to document the event." This may be so, but how did they know there would be an event to document on September 11? Of course, the mainstream US media do not ask such questions. Instead, within an hour of the events, all mainstream channels were discussing Arab and Bin Laden trails after George Tenet, the former director of the CIA, had said "you know, this has bin Laden's fingerprints all over it."
This linking of Bin Laden with the events was then extended to include all Muslims, who were said to hate American "freedom" and "democracy": Muslims who were "medieval" in their thoughts and actions and wanted to destroy the US because they envy its wealth and power and are still bitter about the Crusades. Usama bin Laden is generally held responsible for the attacks by a vast majority of Americans and even by some Muslims. However, he denied any involvement in a statement first aired by the BBC and subsequently ignored by most analysts. Bin Laden said: "I was not involved in the September 11 attacks in the United States nor did I have knowledge of the attacks. There exists a government within a government within the United States. The United States should try to trace the perpetrators of these attacks within itself; to the people who want to make the present century a century of conflict between Islam and Christianity. That secret government must be asked as to who carried out the attacks… The American system is totally in control of the Jews, whose first priority is Israel, not the United States."
This statement was totally ignored and the attention of the US media directed instead to a phantom called "al-Qaeda", allegedly led by a man living in caves in Afghanistan. Ignoring all international and moral standards of justice and legality, the Bush administration acted as the prosecutor, judge and executioner, and, after the Taliban refused to hand Osama Bin Laden over to the US, they decided to bomb Afghanistan "back to stone age". Some weeks after the invasion of Afghanistan, the CIA claimed to have discovered, lying in a cave in Afghanistan, the only shred of concrete evidence against Usama Bin Laden: a fuzzy, barely-audible amateur video tape. Since then, analysts and commentators of every hue have taken it for granted that the September 11 attacks were planned and carried out by a man living in the remote regions of Afghanistan; and a gullible American public has accepted this assumption as a fact.
The real question remains: who was really behind the crimes of September 11, 2001? Did the “government within the government” do it? Was it really the work of a well-organized and well-funded organization, or was it the work of a group of individuals especially trained to carry out the evil deed? Nothing can be ruled out. It is undeniable that the US has been in the habit of fabricating casus belli for its aggressions. The sinking of the Lusitania in 1915, for instance, was the result of the Wilson administration's decision to allow passenger liners to carry arms shipments for the British-French side in World War I; when a German submarine torpedoed the ship, killing 1,200 passengers, the resulting public outrage helped to bring the US into the war. The attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 has been repeatedly invoked in connection with 9/11; but few have noted that Japan had little option but to resort to war with the US once the US had cut off its metal and oil shipments in the summer of 1941. Likewise, in 1964, the US concocted the Gulf of Tonkin incident in order to ease the passage of a congressional resolution authorizing massive US intervention in Vietnam. The case of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in August 1990 is the most obvious example of the invention of excuses by the US to attack other nations; April Glaspie, the US ambassador to Baghdad, informed Saddam Hussein a month before his invasion of Kuwait that the US would stay out of his dispute with Kuwait, even as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Norman Schwarzkopf, was drawing up plans for a massive US military intervention in the Persian Gulf, aimed against Iraq. In addition to this circumstantial evidence, there are ample reasons to believe that the US tacitly encouraged an Iraqi attack in order to realize a long-desired goal of US foreign policy: the establishment of a dominant US military presence in the oil-rich Persian Gulf.
It is reasonable to believe that it will take a long time and fundamental changes in the US government before the whole truth about September 11, 2001, is revealed. The 9/11 Commission, whose formation Bush initially opposed and only reluctantly authorized in November 2002, has been an exercise in futility as far as the real culprits are concerned, but these public hearings have exposed scattered pieces of telling information. For instance, public statements of certain ex-Bush administration officials, such as former treasury secretary Paul O’Neill and former counter-terrorism chief Richard Clarke, have confirmed that Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Bush himself immediately seized on the tragedy to set in motion their plans for the invasion of Iraq. For them, the invasion of Afghanistan was, from the beginning, only a waystation on the road to Baghdad. The idea of a “war on terror” was not new, but after September 11 its ramifications have been global, invasive and widely accepted. Those who allowed the hijackings to take place, expecting to use them to their advantage, may not have understood what the full consequences would be. Be that as it may, one thing is beyond dispute: the least plausible explanation is the official version of the Bush administration, propounded endlessly by the American media: that 19 so-called al-Qaeda operatives entered the US, learnt to fly small aircraft at American flight schools, hijacked four commercial airplanes, and flew them into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon without any US government agency having the slightest idea what was happening.
Despite the failure of the 9/11 Commission to reveal the truth, its hearings have provided a clear indication of the self-interest and opportunism that pervade the US administration. In the course of the two days of public hearings, televised by various cable news channels, leading figures in the current Bush administration and the preceding Clinton administration gave testimony and answered questions. These included Colin Powell, the current secretary of state, and Madeleine Albright, his Democratic predecessor; Donald Rumsfeld, Bush's secretary of defense, Paul Wolfowitz, his deputy secretary, and William Cohen, the head of the Pentagon under Clinton; Samuel Berger, Clinton's national security adviser (Condoleeza Rice, Bush's national security adviser, refused to appear); and Richard Clarke, the top White House counter-terrorism adviser to both Clinton and Bush, who resigned shortly before the invasion of Iraq and has published a book denouncing Bush for ignoring the al-Qaeda threat before 9/11 and then using the attacks as a pretext for the invasion.
Constrained by an inadequate framework, based on the assumption that 9/11 was merely the result of failures of US intelligence, diplomacy or military policy, or some combination of all three, the Commission still witnessed numerous exchanges that clearly establish that the so-called "stand-down of security apparatus" could not have occurred without the US government's permission at some level for the attacks to proceed. Almost everyone who appeared before the commission agreed that public opposition would have made the neo-conservatives' proposed foreign policy programme impossible to pursue had it not been for the September 11 attacks. It is equally well proven that the Bush administration was already planning an invasion of Iraq long before September 11, and that Rumsfeld and other warmongers hoped to use Iraqi self-defense actions, such as anti-aircraft fire at US warplanes patrolling the "no-fly" zones in northern and southern Iraq, as an excuse for invasion. But this excuse proved to have little impact on public opinion; hence the need for a bigger event that could be used to generate public consent for the invasion. Clarke alluded to this need during his testimony. "You know," he said, "unfortunately, this country takes body bags and it requires body bags sometimes to make really tough decisions about money and about governmental arrangements."
It may take several more years but ultimately the complete truth about September 11 will emerge. When the world finds out who the real culprits are, it will probably be too late: the discovery will not help to reverse the numerous changes which have occurred in the wake of the attacks, both in the US and elsewhere.
No matter when the full truth becomes public, the attacks of September 11, 2001, have already served those who wish to see a world dominated by America. But such domination is against the flow of human history; the time of direct empires has passed. Iraq and Afghanistan will not become submissive dominions of an American Raj; in fact, they may well become the places where the US meets its match in the form of a long-drawn-out conflict that will drain America's resources to a point of no return.

Five young Israelis are "on the verge of collapse," according to family members, as their incarceration in New York on charges relating to the Bin Laden attacks continues. They were arrested on Sept. 11, only hours after the World Trade Center attack, on charges of "plotting to blow up" a New York bridge. Katie Shmuel of the Galilee town of Yokne'am, says that her son Yaron is in "a very critical psychological situation," given that they are not allowed to have visitors and the difficult conditions in which they are being held. "The Israeli Consul-General in New York was allowed to visit only after asking several times and receiving a special permit," Katie told Arutz-7's Yosef Zalmanson today. "He was allowed to talk to them only in English, and only from behind a glass partition. The Consul told me that the boys are in a bad state and that they are being held under difficult conditions."
When asked why the five youths, aged 22-26, are being held, Katie replied with despair: "It's ludicrous. They were on the George Washington Bridge at the time of the bombing, and the FBI had warnings of a terrorist plot, of guys in a white van, to blow up the bridge. So when the FBI saw this van, with my son and his four friends - one of them had a large sum of money, there were two razor knives in the van, and one of the boys is named Omer, which the FBI guys thought was Omar - they put one and one together and got three, and immediately arrested them... For the first few days, the boys were held in an FBI dungeon, tied up, with no clothes and no food."
*The Israeli newspaper Ha'retz revealed on Sept 17 that these were the same men who were seen "celebrating" and "making mocking gestures" as the Twin Towers collapsed. ** The Jerusalem Post reported on October 26 that the Israelis were smiling as they photograhed themselves with the collapsed towers in the background.

One anonymous phone call to the authorities actually led them to close down all of New York's bridges and tunnels. The mystery caller told the 9-1-1 dispatcher that a group of Palestinians were mixing a plant inside of a white van headed for the Holland Tunnel. Here's the Dispatcher: Jersey City police. Caller: Yes, we have a white van, 2 or 3 guys in there, they look like Palestinians and going around a building. Caller: There's a minivan heading toward the Holland tunnel, I see the guy by Newark Airport mixing some junk and he has those sheikh uniform. Dispatcher: He has what? Caller: He's dressed like an Arab. (8)

Palestinians usually dress in western style clothes, not "sheikh uniforms") Based on that phone call, police then issued a "Be-on-the-Lookout" alert for a white mini-van heading for the city’s bridges and tunnels from New Jersey. When a van fitting that exact description was stopped just before crossing into New York, the suspicious "middle-easterners" were apprehended. Imagine the surprise of the police officers when these terror suspects turned out to be Israelis! The police and FBI field agents became very suspicious when they found maps of the city with certain places highlighted, box cutters (the same items that the hijackers supposedly used), $4700 stuffed in a sock, and foreign pbuttports. Police also told the Bergen Record that plant sniffing were brought to the van and that they reacted as if they had smelled explosives. (10)

The Jerusalem Post later reported that a white van with a plant was stopped as it approached the George Washington Bridge, but the ethnicity of the suspects was not revealed. Here’s what the Jerusalem Post reported on September 12, 2001:
American security services overnight stopped a car plant on the George Washington Bridge. The van, packed with explosives, was stopped on an approach ramp to the bridge. Authorities suspect the persons intended to blow up the main crossing between New Jersey and New York, Army reported. (12)
TCM Breaking reported that the van was laden down with tonnes of explosives (13).
What's really intriguing is that ABC's 20-20 (14), the New York Post (15), and the New Jersey Bergen Record (16) all clearly and unambiguously reported that a white van with Israelis was intercepted on a ramp near Route 3, which leads directly to the Lincoln Tunnel.
But the Jerusalem Post, Israeli National News (Arutz Sheva) (17), and Yediot America, (18) all reported, just as clearly and unambiguously, that a white van with Israelis was stopped on a ramp leading to the George Washington Bridge, which is several miles north of the Lincoln Tunnel.

It appears as if there may actually have been two white vans involved, one stopped on each crossing. This would not only explain the conflicting reports as to the actual location of the arrests, but would also explain how so many credible eye-witnesses all saw celebrating "middle-easterners" in a white van in so many different locations. It also explains why the New York Post and Steve Gordon (lawyer for the 5 Israelis) originally described how three Israelis were arrested but later increased the total to five. Perhaps one van was meant to drop off a plant while the other was meant to pick up the first set of drivers while re-crossing back into New Jersey? If a van was to be used as a parked time-plant on the GW Bridge, then certainly the drivers would need to have a "get-away van" to pick them up and escape. And notice how the van (or vans) stayed away from the third major crossing -the Holland Tunnel- which was where the police had originally been directed to by that anti-Palestinian 9-1-1 "mystery caller". A classic misdirection play. From there, the story gets becomes even more suspicious. The Israelis worked for a Weehawken moving company known as Urban Moving Systems. An American employee of Urban Moving Systems told the The Record of New Jersey that a majority of his co-workers were Israelis and they were joking about the attacks.
The employee, who declined to give his name said: "I was in tears. These guys were joking and that bothered me." These guys were like, "Now America knows what we go through." (19)
A few days after the attacks, Urban Moving System's Israeli owner, Dominick Suter, dropped his business and fled the country for Israel. He was in such a hurry to flee America that some of Urban Moving System
's customers were left with their furniture stranded in storage facilities (20). It was later confirmed that the five detained Israelis were in fact Mossad agents (21). They were held in custody for 71 days before being quietly released. Some of the movers had been kept in solitary confinement for 40 days. (22)

1. The Israeli "movers" cheered the 9-11 attacks to celebrate the successful accomplishment of the greatest spy operation ever pulled off in history.
2. One of them, or an accomplice, then calls a 9-1-1 police dispatcher to report Palestinian plant-makers in a white van headed for the Holland Tunnel.
3. Having thus pre-framed the Palestinians with this phone call, the Israeli planters then head for the George Washington Bridge instead, where they will drop off their time-plant van and escape with Urban Moving accomplices.
4. But the police react very wisely and proactively by closing off ALL bridges and tunnels instead of just the Holland Tunnel. This move inadvertently foils the Israelis’ misdirection play and leads to their own capture and 40 day torture.
5. To cover up this story, the U.S. Justice Department rounds up over 1000 Arabs for minor immigration violations and places them in New York area jails. The Israelis therefore become less conspicuous as the government and media can now claim that the Israelis were just immigration violators caught in the same dragnet as many other Arabs.
6. After several months, FBI and Justice Department “higher-ups” are able to gradually push aside the local FBI agents and free the Israelis quietly. Osama bin Laden was immediately blamed for the 9-11 attacks even though he had no previous record of doing anything on this scale. Immediately after the Flight 11 hit World Trade Center 1 CIA Director George Tenet said "You know, this has bin Laden's fingerprints all over it." (24)
The compliant mainstream media completely ignored the Israeli connection. Immediately following the 9-11 attacks, the media was filled with stories linking the attacks to bin Laden. TV talking-heads, "experts," and scribblers of every stripe spoon-fed a gullible American public a steady diet of the most outrageous propaganda imaginable.
We were told that the reason bin Laden attacked the USA was because he hates our "freedom" and "democracy". The Muslims were "medieval" and they wanted to destroy us because they envied our wealth, were still bitter about the Crusades, and were offended by Britney Spears shaking her breasts and butt all over the place! But bin Laden strongly denied any role in the attacks and suggested that Zionists orchestrated the 9-11 attacks. The BBC published bin Laden's statement of denial in which he said:

A number of intelligence officials have raised questions about Osama bin Laden's capabilities. "This guy sits in a cave in Afghanistan and he's running this operation?" one C.I.A. official asked. "It's so huge. He couldn't have done it alone." A senior military officer told me that because of the visas and other documentation needed to infiltrate team members into the United States a major foreign intelligence service might also have been involved. (26) To date, the only shred of "evidence" to be uncovered against bin Laden was a barely audible fuzzy amateur video that the Pentagon just happened to find "lying around" in Afghanistan. How very convenient, and how very fake. (27)
There is no evidence, be it hard or circumstantial, to link the Al Qaeda "person network" to these acts of terror, but there is a mountain of evidence, both hard and circumstantial, which suggests that Zionists have been very busy framing Arabs for terror plots against America. One last thing. At 09:40 on 9-11 it was reported that the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility for the attacks (28). This claim was immediately denied by the DFLP leader Qais abu Leila who said it had always opposed "terror attacks on civilian targets, especially outside the occupied territories." (29)

Sharon and the other Israeli leaders aspire to fulfill what the goals of the political Zionist movement have been since its origin a century ago: to turn all of historic Palestine into an exclusively Jewish state. The Counterterrorist Myth
A former CIA operative explains why the terrorist Usama bin Ladin has little to fear from American intelligence, by Reuel Marc Gerecht
The United States has spent billions of dollars on counterterrorism since the U.S. embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya, in August of 1998. Tens of millions have been spent on covert operations specifically targeting Usama bin Ladin and his terrorist organization, al-Qa'ida. Senior U.S. officials boldly claim—even after the suicide attack last October on the USS Cole, in the port of Aden—that the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are clandestinely "picking apart" bin Ladin's organization "limb by limb." But having worked for the CIA for nearly nine years on Middle Eastern matters (I left the Directorate of Operations because of frustration with the Agency's many problems), I would argue that America's counterterrorism program in the Middle East and its environs is a myth.
Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan's Northwest Frontier, is on the cultural periphery of the Middle East. It is just down the Grand Trunk Road from the legendary Khyber Pass, the gateway to Afghanistan. Peshawar is where bin Ladin cut his teeth in the Islamic jihad, when, in the mid-1980s, he became the financier and logistics man for the Maktab al-Khidamat, The Office of Services, an overt organization trying to recruit and aid Muslim, chiefly Arab, volunteers for the war against the Soviets in Afghanistan. The friendships and associations made in The Office of Services gave birth to the clandestine al-Qa'ida, The Base, whose explicit aim is to wage a jihad against the West, especially the United States.
According to Afghan contacts and Pakistani officials, bin Ladin's men regularly move through Peshawar and use it as a hub for phone, fax, and modem communication with the outside world. Members of the embassy-bombing teams in Africa probably planned to flee back to Pakistan. Once there they would likely have made their way into bin Ladin's open arms through al-Qa'ida's numerous friends in Peshawar. Every tribe and region of Afghanistan is represented in this city, which is dominated by the Pathans, the pre-eminent tribe in the Northwest Frontier and southern Afghanistan. Peshawar is also a power base of the Taliban, Afghanistan's fundamentalist rulers. Knowing the city's ins and outs would be indispensable to any U.S. effort to capture or kill bin Ladin and his closest associates. Intelligence collection on al-Qa'ida can't be of much real value unless the agent network covers Peshawar.
During a recent visit, at sunset, when the city's cloistered alleys go black except for an occasional flashing neon sign, I would walk through Afghan neighborhoods. Even in the darkness I had a case officer's worst sensation—eyes following me everywhere. To escape the crowds I would pop into carpet, copper, and jewelry shops and every cybercafé I could find. These were poorly lit one- or two-room walk-ups where young men surfed Western porn. No matter where I went, the feeling never left me. I couldn't see how the CIA as it is today had any chance of running a successful counterterrorist operation against bin Ladin in Peshawar, the Dodge City of Central Asia.
Westerners cannot visit the cinder-block, mud-brick side of the Muslim world—whence bin Ladin's foot soldiers mostly come—without announcing who they are. No case officer stationed in Pakistan can penetrate either the Afghan communities in Peshawar or the Northwest Frontier's numerous religious schools, which feed manpower and ideas to bin Ladin and the Taliban, and seriously expect to gather useful information about radical Islamic terrorism—let alone recruit foreign agents.
Even a Muslim CIA officer with native-language abilities (and the Agency, according to several active-duty case officers, has very few operatives from Middle Eastern backgrounds) could do little more in this environment than a blond, blue-eyed all-American. Case officers cannot long escape the embassies and consulates in which they serve. A U.S. official overseas, photographed and registered with the local intelligence and security services, can't travel much, particularly in a police-rich country like Pakistan, without the "host" services' knowing about it. An officer who tries to go native, pretending to be a true-believing radical Muslim searching for brothers in the cause, will make a fool of himself quickly.
In Pakistan, where the government's Inter-Services Intelligence Agency and the ruling army are competent and tough, the CIA can do little if these institutions are against it. And they are against it. Where the Taliban and Usama bin Ladin are concerned, Pakistan and the United States aren't allies. Relations between the two countries have been poor for years, owing to American opposition to Pakistan's successful nuclear-weapons program and, more recently, Islamabad's backing of Muslim Kashmiri separatists. Bin Ladin's presence in Afghanistan as a "guest" of the Pakistani-backed Taliban has injected even more distrust and suspicion into the relationship.
In other words, American intelligence has not gained and will not gain Pakistan's assistance in its pursuit of bin Ladin. The only effective way to run offensive counterterrorist operations against Islamic radicals in more or less hostile territory is with "non-official-cover" officers—operatives who are in no way openly attached to the U.S. government. Imagine James Bond minus the gadgets, the women, the Walther PPK, and the Aston Martin. But as of late 1999 no program to insert NOCs into an Islamic fundamentalist organization abroad had been implemented, according to one such officer who has served in the Middle East. "NOCs haven't really changed at all since the Cold War," he told me recently. "We're still a group of fake businessmen who live in big houses overseas. We don't go to mosques and pray."
A former senior Near East Division operative says, "The CIA probably doesn't have a single truly qualified Arabic-speaking officer of Middle Eastern background who can play a believable Muslim fundamentalist who would volunteer to spend years of his life with shitty food and no women in the mountains of Afghanistan. For Christ's sake, most case officers live in the suburbs of Virginia. We don't do that kind of thing." A younger case officer boils the problem down even further: "Operations that include diarrhea as a way of life don't happen."
Behind-the-lines counterterrorism operations are just too dangerous for CIA officers to participate in directly. When I was in the Directorate of Operations, the Agency would deploy a small army of officers for a meeting with a possibly dangerous foreigner if he couldn't be met in the safety of a U.S. embassy or consulate. Officers still in the clandestine service say that the Agency's risk-averse, bureaucratic nature—which mirrors, of course, the growing physical risk-aversion of American society—has only gotten worse.
few miles from Peshawar's central bazaar, near the old Cantonment, where redcoats once drilled and where the U.S. consulate can be found, is the American Club, a traditional hangout for international-aid workers, diplomats, journalists, and spooks. Worn-out Western travelers often stop here on the way from Afghanistan to decompress; one can buy a drink, watch videos, order a steak. Security warnings from the American embassy are posted on the club's hallway bulletin board.
The bulletins I saw last December advised U.S. officials and their families to stay away from crowds, mosques, and anyplace else devout Pakistanis and Afghans might gather. The U.S. embassy in Islamabad, a fortress surrounded by roadblocks, Pakistani soldiers, and walls topped with security cameras and razor wire, strongly recommended a low profile—essentially life within the Westernized, high-walled Cantonment area or other spots where diplomats are unlikely to bump into fundamentalists.
Such warnings accurately reflect the mentality inside both the Department of State and the CIA. Individual officers may venture out, but their curiosity isn't encouraged or rewarded. Unless one of bin Ladin's foot soldiers walks through the door of a U.S. consulate or embassy, the odds that a CIA counterterrorist officer will ever see one are extremely poor.
The Directorate of Operations' history of success has done little to prepare the CIA for its confrontation with radical Islamic terrorism. Perhaps the DO's most memorable victory was against militant Palestinian groups in the 1970s and 1980s. The CIA could find common ground with Palestinian militants, who often drink, womanize, and spend time in nice hotels in pleasant, comfortable countries. Still, its "penetrations" of the PLO—delightfully and kindly rendered in David Ignatius's novel Agents of Innocence (1987)—were essentially emissaries from Yasir Arafat to the U.S. government.
Difficulties with fundamentalism and mud-brick neighborhoods aside, the CIA has stubbornly refused to develop cadres of operatives specializing in one or two countries. Throughout the Soviet-Afghan war (1979-1989) the DO never developed a team of Afghan experts. The first case officer in Afghanistan to have some proficiency in an Afghan language didn't arrive until 1987, just a year and a half before the war's end. Robert Baer, one of the most talented Middle East case officers of the past twenty years (and the only operative in the 1980s to collect consistently first-rate intelligence on the Lebanese Hizbollah and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad), suggested to headquarters in the early 1990s that the CIA might want to collect intelligence on Afghanistan from the neighboring Central Asian republics of the former Soviet Union.
Headquarters' reply: Too dangerous, and why bother? The Cold War there was over with the Soviet withdrawal in 1989. Afghanistan was too far away, internecine warfare was seen as endemic, and radical Islam was an abstract idea. Afghanistan has since become the brain center and training ground for Islamic terrorism against the United States, yet the CIA's clandestine service still usually keeps officers on the Afghan account no more than two or three years.
Until October of 1999 no CIA official visited Ahmad Shah Mas'ud in Afghanistan. Mas'ud is the ruler of northeastern Afghanistan and the leader of the only force still fighting the Taliban. He was the most accomplished commander of the anti-Soviet mujahideen guerrillas; his army now daily confronts Arab military units that are under the banner of bin Ladin, yet no CIA case officer has yet debriefed Mas'ud's soldiers on the front lines or the Pakistani, Afghan, Chinese-Turkoman, and Arab holy warriors they've captured.
The CIA's Counterterrorism Center, which now has hundreds of employees from numerous government agencies, was the creation of Duane "Dewey" Clarridge, an extraordinarily energetic bureaucrat-spook. In less than a year in the mid-1980s Clarridge converted a three-man operation confined to one room with one TV set broadcasting CNN into a staff that rivaled the clandestine service's Near East Division for primacy in counterterrorist operations. Yet the Counterterrorism Center didn't alter the CIA's methods overseas at all. "We didn't really think about the details of operations—how we would penetrate this or that group," a former senior counterterrorist official says. "Victory for us meant that we stopped [Thomas] Twetten [the chief of the clandestine service's Near East Division] from walking all over us." In my years inside the CIA, I never once heard case officers overseas or back at headquarters discuss the ABCs of a recruitment operation against any Middle Eastern target that took a case officer far off the diplomatic and business-conference circuits. Long-term seeding operations simply didn't occur.
George Tenet, who became the director of the CIA in 1997, has repeatedly described America's counterterrorist program as "robust" and in most cases successful at keeping bin Ladin's terrorists "off-balance" and anxious about their own security. The Clinton Administration's senior director for counterterrorism on the National Security Council, Richard Clarke, who has continued as the counterterrorist czar in the Bush Administration, is sure that bin Ladin and his men stay awake at night "around the campfire" in Afghanistan, "worried stiff about who we're going to get next."
If we are going to defeat Usama bin Ladin, we need to openly side with Ahmad Shah Mas'ud, who still has a decent chance of fracturing the tribal coalition behind Taliban power. That, more effectively than any clandestine counterterrorist program in the Middle East, might eventually force al-Qa'ida's leader to flee Afghanistan, where U.S. and allied intelligence and military forces cannot reach him.
Until then, I don't think Usama bin Ladin and his allies will be losing much sleep around the campfire.
Is the world's favourite hate figure to blame?

I can imagine how Osama bin Laden received the news of the atrocities in the United States. In all, I must have spent five hours listening to him in Sudan and then in the Afghan mountains, as he described the inevitable collapse of the US, just as he and his comrades in the Afghan war helped to destroy the Red Army.
He will have watched satellite television, he will have sat in the corner of his room, brushing his teeth as he always did, with a mishwak stick, thinking for up to a minute before speaking. He once told me with pride how his men had attacked the Americans in Somalia. He acknowledged that he personally knew two of the Saudis executed for bombing an American military base in Riyadh. Could he be behind the slaughter in America?
If Mr bin Laden was really guilty of all the things for which he has been blamed, he would need an army of 10,000. And there is something
deeply disturbing about the world's habit of turning to the latest hate figure whenever blood is shed. But when events of this momentous scale take place, there is a new legitimacy in casting one's eyes at those who have constantly threatened America.
Mr bin Laden had a kind of religious experience during the Afghan war. A Russian shell had fallen at his feet and, in the seconds as he waited for it to explode, he said he had a sudden feeling of calmness. The shell never exploded.
The US must leave the Gulf, he would say every 10 minutes. America must stop all sanctions against the Iraqi people. America must stop using Israel to oppress Palestinians. He was not fighting an anti-colonial war, but a religious one. His supporters would gather round him with the awe of men listening to a messiah. And the words they listened to were fearful in their implications. American civilians would no more be spared than military targets. Yet I also remember one night when Mr bin Laden saw a pile of newspapers in my bag and seized them. By a sputtering oil lamp, he read them, clearly unaware of the world around him. Was this really a man who could damage America?
If the shadow of the Middle East falls over yesterday's destruction, then who else could produce such meticulously timed assaults? The rag-tag Palestinian groups that used to favour hijacking are unlikely to be able to produce a single suicide bomber. Hamas and Islamic Jihad have neither the capability nor the money that this assault needed. Perhaps the groups that moved close to the Lebanese Hizbollah in the 1980s, before the organisation became solely a resistance movement. The bombing of the US Marines in 1983 needed precision, timing and infinite planning. But Iran, which supported these groups, is more involved in its internal struggles. Iraq lies broken, its agents more intent on torturing their own people than striking at the the US.
So the mountains of Afghanistan will be photographed from satellite and high-altitude aircraft in the coming days, Mr bin Laden's old training camps highlighted on the overhead projectors in the Pentagon. But to what end? For if this is a war it cannot be fought like other wars. Indeed, can it be fought at all without some costly military adventure overseas? Or is that what Mr bin Laden seeks above all else?
The Mystery Of The 9/11 Car Bombs

A much underreported aspect of the 9/11 attacks is one that concerns transmissions, sightings, reports and statements alluding to multiple mysterious suspects in different vans packed with explosives that were stopped and detained in New York while the towers were burning and in the aftermath of the attacks.
Some evidence even suggests that some of these vehicles actually exploded, and at least one was reported by mainstream media sourcing the FBI as having been parked at the base of one of the towers when it exploded and aided the collapse of the tower.
At first it sounds outlandish, but were teams of "terrorists" with huge amounts of explosives roaming around on the ground in New York on September 11th ready to jump into action and attack whichever structures or buildings they were ordered to target?
The first, and most mysterious, piece of evidence to highlight comes from an actual transmission from audio from Channel 30 NYC, one of the emergency communications channels, on the morning of September 11 which makes reference to the discovery of a van full of explosives and two suspects located between 6th and 7th on King Street, some blocks away from the World Trade Center.
The bizarre thing about the transmission is that the responder makes reference to a mural painted on the side of the van depicting a "remote controlled plane" diving into New York City. A full transcript follows the audio:

The indication is that the suspects ran away when the van was stopped and were then apprehended following some sort of struggle. It is then stated that the van has actually exploded.
Naturally the strangeness of this audio clip has lead to questions concerning its authenticity, yet this was cleared up soon after the clip emerged sometime last year, when it was discovered that reference to the mural van was also made in the February 2006 Norman Y. Mineta International Institute for Surface Transportation Policy Studies (MTI) report entitled: “Saving City Lifelines: Lessons Learned in the 9-11 Terrorist Attacks”. The report states:
"There were continuing moments of alarm. A panel truck with a painting of a plane flying into the World Trade Center was stopped near the temporary command post. It proved to be rented to a group of ethnic Middle Eastern people who did not speak English. Fearing that it might be a truck bomb, the NYPD immediately evacuated the area, called out the bomb squad, and detained the occupants until a thorough search was made. The vehicle was found to be an innocent delivery truck."
The Culhavoc blog site, which has covered this mystery in depth here, notes:
The MTI quote makes absolutely no mention of the truck exploding.
This report states that the truck was rented. Doesn’t the MTI find it interesting that middle eastern men rented a truck and painted it with a mural depicting an attack currently taking place blocks away? Why would someone paint a mural of WTC being attacked by planes on a rented van?
In addition if this was an "innocent delivery truck" why did the suspects attempt to run away?
We have two middle eastern men in a van with a mural on the side of New York being attacked by a plane diving into it on the same day as two planes are flown into the twin towers. Is this alone not suspicious enough to warrant a full explanation in the MTI report?
Something about the mural also must have caused the officer heard on the transmission to believe that it depicted a remote controlled airplane packed with explosives. The remote controlled plane comments are interesting when put into context side by side with Operation Northwoods, the now infamous 1962 plan by the Joint Chiefs to carry out terror attacks on American soil to be used as a pretext to invade Cuba.
What happened to these two men? Why was the apparent explosion of the vehicle never reported? And why was first responder audio stating the vehicle had exploded subsequently ignored by all the official investigations into 9/11?
More Roaming Explosive Vans in NY on 9/11
Another transcript of 9/11 police radio transmissions, originally obtained by memoryhole.org in 2005 through a Port Authority Freedom of Information Request, reveals a second separate mention of a van with “terrorists” and explosives:

The Holland Tunnel exit is a few blocks from King between 6th and 7th.
Could this be the same van that exploded on King St. as was reported on NYPD radio or is it a completely different van?
Certainly if the van had a mural painted on its side one would assume any sightings would include a description of this also. This is not the case here however, which suggests this may be an altogether different white van with 'terrorists" and explosives.

In a separate transcript first broadcast by NBC news, another mention is made of a white van with explosives and "terrorists" heading for the Holland Tunnel.
Dispatcher: Jersey City police.
Caller: Yes, we have a white van, 2 or 3 guys in there, they look like Palestinians and going around a building.
Caller: There's a minivan heading toward the Holland tunnel, I see the guy by Newark Airport mixing some junk and he has those sheikh uniform.
Dispatcher: He has what?
Caller: He's dressed like an Arab.
Based on that phone call, police then issued a "Be-on-the-Lookout" alert for a white mini-van heading for the city's bridges and tunnels from New Jersey.
Is this yet another white van or is it again the same one? It is somewhat strange that the caller describes the man or men as "dressed like an arab". Certainly there was no mention of out of the ordinary dress when the two suspects from the King St. incident were apprehended.
Furthermore, why would any potential terrorist attract attention to themselves by dressing out of the ordinary? Why would any potential terrorist paint a mural of an attack they know is going to happen that day on their vehicle? Were these sightings hoaxes or deliberate distractions or were there actually people carrying out these actions, and if so on who's orders were they acting and why were they being so blatant?
These reports are very strange but they are in the record on 9/11.
In addition to these Holland Tunnel reports, The Jerusalem Post and others also reported that a white van with a bomb was stopped as it approached the George Washington Bridge:
American security services overnight stopped a car bomb on the George Washington Bridge. The van, packed with explosives, was stopped on an approach ramp to the bridge. Authorities suspect the terrorists intended to blow up the main crossing between New Jersey and New York, Army Radio reported.
It was reported that two or three men were arrested and the van contained tonnes of explosives.

Could these two incidents at the Holland Tunnel and the George Washington Bridge have involved the same white van and the same group of "terrorists"? The George Washington Bridge is several miles north of the Holland Tunnel. It certainly becomes clear that the suspects detained at the GW Bridge were not the same suspects detained in King St. with the mural on their van.
The Five Dancing Israelis Arrested On 9-11
Another often documented instance of suspicious individuals seen in a white van on 9/11 is that of the so called "Five Dancing Israelis". It was reported by the New York Times any many other outlets that Police received several calls from angry New Jersey residents on and after 9/11 claiming that a group of five "middle-eastern" men with a white van were videotaping the disaster with shouts of joy and mockery.
The following details are taken from whatreallyhappened.com's excellent datapage on this aspect of the story.
Some witnesses stated they saw the men set up video cameras aimed at the Twin Towers prior to the attack and were seen congratulating one another afterwards.
Witnesses saw them jumping for joy in Liberty State Park after the initial impact. Later on, other witnesses saw them celebrating on a roof in Weehawken, and still more witnesses later saw them celebrating with high fives in a Jersey City parking lot.
In each case the white van was mentioned and a group of three to five described. Could these reports have all pertained to the same group of middle easterners or was there more than one group?
It was reported by ABC, the New York Post and the New Jersey Bergen Record that police stopped a group of five men in a white van on a ramp near Route 3, which leads directly to the Lincoln Tunnel at around 4.30pm on 9/11.
The police and FBI field agents became very suspicious when they found maps of the city with certain places highlighted, box cutters (the same items that the hijackers supposedly used), $4700 cash stuffed in a sock, and foreign passports. Police also told the Bergen Record that bomb sniffing dogs were brought to the van and that they reacted as if they had smelled explosives.
The Jewish weekly The Forward reported that the FBI finally concluded that at least two of the detained Israelis were agents working for the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, and that Urban Moving Systems, the ostensible employer of the five Israelis, was a front operation. This was confirmed by two former CIA officers, and they noted that movers' vans are a common intelligence cover. The Israelis were held in custody for 71 days beforebeing quietly released.
It was also determined that the Israeli owner of Urban Moving Systems, Dominick Suter, dropped his business a few days after 9/11 and fled the country for Israel. He was in such a hurry to flee America that some of Urban Moving System's customers were left with their furniture stranded in storage facilities. Suter was later placed on the same FBI suspect list as Mohammed Atta and the 19 hijackers.
Several of the detainees discussed their experience in America on an Israeli talk show after their return home. Said one of the men, denying that they were laughing or happy on the morning of Sept. 11, "The fact of the matter is we are coming from a country that experiences terror daily. Our purpose was to document the event." How did they know there would be an event to document on 9/11? This is clear evidence of prior knowledge.

The fact that these men were exposed as Mossad agents raises the question, who were the other groups of middle eastern men spotted in white vans on 9/11 working for?

It also contains MSNBC's Pat Dawson stating that the chief of safety for the New York City Fire Department had told him that they believed a secondary device had exploded somewhere inside one of the buildings:
So not only do we have reports of explosive vans from all over New York on 9/11, news reports also strongly suggest that the authorities believed that vans packed with explosives were used in the actual attack on the World Trade Center.
Another widely circulated report picked up by multiple mainstream outlets on 9/11 was the announcement by senior law officials within the State Department in Washington that a car bomb had exploded outside the their building.
The news anchors in the following British Channel 5 clip also make mention of a car bomb at the State Department and the bombing of a shopping mall in Washington DC.

These were not rumors generated as a result of "confusion" as is often the defense - the anchor cites a "senior U.S. law enforcement official" as the source. Why were these events reported and then never covered again?
It is commonly accepted that the breadth of the 9/11 attack was planned to be larger in scope because Flight 93 did not reach its target. Were the State Department and Washington Mall "bombings" intended to go ahead but for whatever reason failed or were called off? Was the media fed a script too early as in the case of Building 7, which was also reported to have collapsed by both the BBC and CNN up to 30 minutes before it actually fell?
By the evening of September 11, following a "perimeter walk around our building," the State Department publicly stated that no such bombing had taken place.
Why were senior State Department officials telling the media that there had been a bombing without even conducting a basic appraisal of the building's perimeter? Can this all be put down to "confusion" or were some elements of the 9/11 script changed according to how events were unfolding on the day?
Conclusion
There are reports from 9/11 of white vans with explosives and middle eastern suspects in at least eight different places in New York on that day:
King Street
nr. Holland Tunnel
nr. George Washington Bridge
nr. Lincoln Tunnel
Liberty State Park
Weehawken
Jersey City
World Trade Center
These locations are represented by the blue placemarks on the map (click for enlargement).
There were at least three different parties involved:
1. The Israeli group detained near the Lincoln Tunnel
2. The mural van pair detained on King Street
3. Whoever it was that was detained near the GW Bridge
None of these groups were dressed in Arab garb so, if the documented call to police stating this was authentic, there may have been another group.
There are many more witness statements and reports of exploding vehicles in and around ground zero on 9/11, far too many to go into detail about.
Were all these reports and statements, including the NYPD transmissions inaccurate or false alarms? Or do they represent evidence of 9/11 being a much larger scale operation than we have been led to believe? Were all the mysterious suspects "backup" in case the planes never reached their targets? Were some involved in bringing the towers down?
We can only speculate on who these people were, what their roles were and who they were working for, but once again it is clear that the whole truth as to what happened on the day that changed the world is far from being told.

[Some editors find that two mainstream sources (CBS News and Jerusalem Post) are not enough documentation of the George Washington Bridge truck bomb incident. So, here's more.]
A wonderful corroboration comes from the Deputy Managing Editor of the Wall Street Journal, Barney Calame, writing for the American Society of Newspaper Editors:
"A delivery truck carrying about 60,000 papers bound for Manhattan from the South Brunswick printing plant got caught in a roadblock at the George Washington Bridge. A van suspected of carrying explosives had been stopped — and the entire inbound bridge lanes were closed, trapping the Journal delivery truck for several hours. " --Scattered WSJ staff use e-mail, phones, N.J. office to publish, Barney Calame, Published: May 31, 2002
Well now, I guess that really happened, huh? A van was stopped at the bridge. Traffic was stoppedat the bridge. Reports went out to the world about the van.
The Wall Street Journal report comes from personal knowledge of events involving the Wall Street Journal truck.
TWO -- DIFFERENT -- VANS
It should be clarified now that there were at least two vans stopped that day, which has led to some confusion.
One van was stopped at the "approach ramp" to the "George Washington Bridge," with either two suspects (CBS/Jerusalem Post) or three suspects (CNN).
A second van was stopped on a "service road off Route 3 near New Jersey's Giant Stadium" in "East Rutherford" (ABC/Bergen Record), with five suspects. This van was stopped "around 4pm" (ABC).
The latter van was stopped 12 miles away (MAPQUEST) at the George Washington Bridge, after 10pm on 9/11.
CNN also reported the arrests in question:
DEBORAH FEVERICK, [correction: "Feyerick"] CNN CORRESPONDENT: Yes, I can. That is the information that I am getting from two sources, that there was a van either on the New Jersey Turnpike or the Garden State Parkway, and that it was near the George Washington Bridge.
There were two or three men who were in the van that was pulled over. It is not clear why the van was pulled over, but when it was, law enforcers found tons of explosives inside of the van.
That is, right now, all I am hearing. But again, two to three people in custody, and we are trying to get more information on that right now.
HEMMER: Deborah, I don't mean to put you on the spot here. Do you know where on the Jersey Turnpike this was? How far from New York City?
FEVERICK: We do not know that. We are looking into that. There is one report that it was on the New Jersey Turnpike. There is another report that it was very close to the bridge, if not on the bridge. So again, these details are emerging. We're trying to piece them together. But that's what we have so far, two to three people in custody, found with a van filled with explosives.

We can be pretty damned certain that:
1) There was a van very near the George Washington Bridge.
2) It was stopped at the approach to the George Washington Bridge by police.
3) The traffic across the bridge was closed for several hours.
4) News reporters were informed of a large amount of explosives in the van.
5) Two or three people were in the van, and were arrested.
6) No mention at all of these facts (or of "Urban Moving Systems") was presented at the 9/11 Commission, and it was never acknowledged by their (phony) report or by the Congressional Joint Inquiry Report.
And, you know what? That's enough. Just the fact that we were told about a truck bomb on the evening of 9/11 needed to be clarified and explained by the U.S. federal government in significant detail.
The fact that they have buried this and pretended it never happened is damning in and of itself.
At this point, one may say yes, a van was stopped, but it didn't actually have explosives in it.
Okay, but why would someone assume that CNN, CBS, Jerusalem Post and others are wrong about the presence of the explosives? And why is that assumption good enough?
How did all of their sources provide them with the explosives information in the first place?
The van had to contain something that led police to conclude it was "tons" of explosives (CNN), and "enough explosives ... to do great damage to the George Washington Bridge." (CBS)
If so, what was in the van? Let us see this evidence for ourselves.
More importantly: were the two or three suspects arrested at the bridge just ghosts? Didn't they exist? What are their names?
Minutes after the arrests, the Police Commissioner of New York City, Bernard Kerik, confirmed (onCNN) from his own sources the arrest of "three men in a van," and he had been told specifically that there were "no explosives in the van." Kerik also evaded the question of where exactly this van was located:
QUESTION: Where in New Jersey, do you know?
KERIK: I can't say yet.
Does he mean he "can't say?" He's not allowed to say? Or that he doesn't know? This is a very odd response to a pretty straightforward question about the location where an arrest has just taken place. How is Kerik so sure about the lack of explosives, if he can't even be sure where the van was?
Remember, there were two vans. That much is proven beyond any reasonable doubt. The first van -- stopped near Giants Stadium -- did not contain explosives. That much is true, although bomb sniffing dogs reacted to this van as if it did, as reported in the Bergen Record story (FIVE MEN DETAINED AS SUSPECTED CONSPIRATORS, BERGEN RECORD (New Jersey) Wednesday, September 12, 2001).
The second van, stopped at the George Washington Bridge, is in question.
Kerik's confirmation of "three men" correlates to the George Washington Bridge van, as opposed to the five suspects in the other van who were stopped seven hours previously near Giants Stadium, and driven away "in a procession of state police cars around 5pm." (Bergen Record)
The timing of Kerik's announcement, 11:30pm, correlates to the later arrests. Kerik makes no mention of multiple vans.
Here's the quote:
BERNARD KERIK, NEW YORK CITY POLICE COMMISSIONER: I just got a confirmation from the Chief of Detectives, he's reach out to the FBI. They have confirmed that someone has been stopped in New Jersey, three men in a van.However, there was no explosives in the van. All right. They're being held for questioning.
Kerik really stresses the talking point. No one had mentioned "explosives" at the press conference up until that moment. The questioner did ask about "resources," a vague term that Kerik apparently interpreted as "explosives." (CNN, New York City Officials Address Day's Devastation, Aired September 11, 2001 - 23:30 ET)
I would implore local 9/11 Truthers to get the Port Authority Police Department records about these arrests at the bridge, and to interview all the involved officers they can locate. This assumes the police records still exist and haven't been purged like other important bits of history related to "Urban Moving Systems" and the 9/11 attacks.
The Jerusalem Post article has been removed from their website. Coincidentally, it has also been removed from the Internet Archive The Wayback Machine, exactly as the Fox "News" report was removed:

The FBI "Be On Look Out" or BOLO alert sent out to local police stations at 3:31pm on September 11th:

About eight hours after terrorists struck Manhattan's tallest skyscrapers, police in Bergen County detained five men who they said were found carrying maps linking them to the blasts.
The five men, who were in a van stopped on Route 3 in East Rutherford around 4:30 p.m., were being questioned by police but had not been charged with any crime late Tuesday. The Bergen County Police bomb squad X-rayed packages found inside the van but did not find any explosives, authorities said.
However, sources close to the investigation said they found other evidence linking the men to the bombing plot.
"There are maps of the city in the car with certain places highlighted," the source said. "It looked like they're hooked in with this. It looked like they knew what was going to happen when they were at Liberty State Park."
Sources also said that bomb-sniffing dogs reacted as if they had detected explosives, although officers were unable to find anything. The FBI seized the van for further testing, authorities said.
Sources said the van was stopped as it headed east on Route 3, between the Hackensack River bridge and the Sheraton hotel. As a precaution, police shut down Route 3 traffic in both directions after the stop and evacuated a small roadside motel near the Sheraton.
Sources close to the investigation said the men said they were Israeli tourists, but police had not been able to confirm their identities. Authorities would not release their names.
East Rutherford officers stopped the van after the FBI's Newark Field Office broadcast an alert asking surrounding police departments to look for a white Chevrolet van, police said.
"We got an alert to be on the lookout for a white Chevrolet van with New Jersey registration and writing on the side," said Bergen County Police Chief John Schmidig. "Three individuals were seen celebrating in Liberty State Park after the impact. They said three people were jumping up and down."
The East Rutherford officers summoned the county police bomb squad, New Jersey state troopers, and FBI agents, who waited alongside the van as prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney's Office tried to obtain a warrant to search the van late Tuesday, Schmidig said.
By 10 p.m., members of the bomb squad were picking through the van and X-raying packages found inside, Schmidig said.
Sources said the FBI alert, known as a BOLO or "Be On Lookout," was sent out at 3:31 p.m.
It read:
"Vehicle possibly related to New York terrorist attack. White, 2000 Chevrolet van with New Jersey registration with 'Urban Moving Systems' sign on back seen at Liberty State Park, Jersey City, NJ, at the time of first impact of jetliner into World Trade Center.

FBI spokeswoman Sandra Carroll declined to comment on the incident late Tuesday.
State police Lt. Col. Barry W. Roberson confirmed the traffic stop at a late night news briefing at state police headquarters in Trenton. He would not elaborate, however.
Business records show an Urban Moving Systems with offices on West 50th Street in Manhattan and on West 18th Street in Weehawken. Telephone messages left at the businesses Tuesday evening were not immediately returned.
Business records show the owner as Dominik Suter of Fair Lawn. A woman answering the telephone at Suter's home acknowledged he owned the company but refused to comment further. She also declined to identify herself.
It was not clear Tuesday whether the van stopped by police is related to Suter's company.
A business traveler staying at the Homestead Studio Suites Hotel said she watched state troopers drive the suspects away in a procession of state police cars about 5 p.m.
The woman, who asked not to be identified, said the people detained appeared to be white men, but she could not give more details. About 5:30 p.m., police evacuated the hotel without offering guests an explanation.
"First, they told us we could hang out in the lobby, but then they told us we had to leave," the traveler said.
At 10 p.m., the hotel guest said she could see at least two police officers searching through the van while a crowd of other officers kept their distance. Except for police vehicles and a tow truck, the service road beside Route 3 was empty, she said.
